I’m not entirely sure what the point of this post is. Is Foster insinuating that corporations sometimes do things for less than altruistic reasons? Well, duh. Google and Facebook anti-SOPA stance isn’t a big deal because they’re doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, it’s a big deal because the two largest internet companies have decided to throw their weight behind a cause that a lot of us think is important. Sure they still have a lot of troubling problems with privacy issues, but we can fight that fight later. Right now it’s just nice to have some major players on our side.
