Movie time
In the past week, Whit and I have seen five movies: Eastern Promises, Charlie Wilson’s War, The Diving Bell and The Butterfly, The Savages and Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead. These flims ranged from good to amazing. I hope to put up my reviews tomorrow sometime. I know you can’t wait.

He Directed That? →
Every once in a while a director will throw us for a loop and make a film that is inconsistent with his or her other work. Here’s a compilation that has been brewing in my head for a long time – a list of the most famous cinematic anomalies from great directors. — nostrich

Stereogum's Records of 2008 Preview →
As loathe as i am to direct traffic towards Stereogum these days, this is a pretty handy guide for what’s supposed to be coming out next year. After a quick look at the list, I’m looking forward to the new albums by Girl Talk, Hot Chip, Los Campesinos, Icy Demons, Man Man, M83 and Gnarls Barkley. Which isn’t a lot. Let’s hope for a lot of surprises, like this year. And...

Home from the Holidays
So Whit and i just got back from our trip down South. I haven’t been on the Internet since Saturday morning, which means i’m years behind. I’ve got fifteen pages of Tumblr posts to sift through and over a thousand things in my reader. Hopefully i be caught up by tomorrow.

Tumblr's Brilliance
I think one of the brilliant things about Tumblr is that it has found a way around the blog gentrification problem. Whenever I have a blog or a website that I regularly post to I like to feel that my posts are getting more intelligent. I feel like I have a duty not to waste my reader’s time. And as the quality improves, the readers increase. The end result is that my standards become...

Holidays are here again
So in three minutes, i’m (basically) off work till Jan. 2nd. This is fantastic for me, but for those of you who have come to depend on this blog as a source of distracting during the working hours, i’m afraid you might not be able to count on it as much. I’ll still be making posts, but the 5/6 a day pace i’ve been keeping up is going to suffer. I’m sure you’ll...

Rex’s annual list of blogs of note. This is one of my favorite year-end lists cause i always find out about a few awesome new sites to follow. I’m also pleased when he mentions ones i’ve already been reading (silly, i know).

Pitchfork's Top 50 Albums of 2007 →
Here it is, the day the whole internet has been waiting for. It’s a pretty good list, no huge surprises (although 8 Diagrams over Big Doe Rehab is a little crazy). Shame they didn’t get the memo that mixtapes aren’t albums, though. And i guess it’s a good thing Jackie finished his list when he did, or he would’ve looked pretty silly.

No one knows the answer to that question
